Around 15,000 pets are helped every year by the Nova Scotia SPCA. Some have broken bones. Others have broken hearts. All are deserving of love.

With the support of kind donors, we offer progressive programs to help pets and families. From strays to rescues, and newborns to seniors, the Nova Scotia SPCA provides every kind of care.

Check out the #TrueTails below of real SPCA alumni and the programs that gave them their happily-ever-after.

Every kind of care.
For every kind of story.

Brutus

The team at the SPCA Veterinary Hospital always make me feel just as amazing as I look. Plus, my visit helps other pets in need. Even those fur ninjas with claws. What do they call them? Cats?

Huey

When the SPCA found me through their Trap, Neuter, Return program, I was super spicy. They told me kitten hisses get extra kisses and I cut the cattitude fast. I was adopted and I went from wild to mild.

Da Tou

They see me rolling, they awww-ing. Admit it… you sang that in your head, didn’t you? Thanks to the SPCA’s Palliative Care Program, my medical costs are fully covered. I’m healed up and wheeled up.

Draco

My mum, Cotton Candy, was pregnant with me when the SPCA rescued her from a cruelty situation. So, you could say my escape was a real inside job. Can you believe I was the runt of the litter? Look at me now!

Professor Poutine

As Bob Ross would say… I was a happy little accident. My mum has nine lives and was determined on making 99 more. But thanks to the SPCA’s P.U.P. Program, she was spayed for free and I got the best name ever.

Olive

I graduated as the top pup of my class – certified in cuteness. They say I learned all my tricks in the SPCA’s WOOF Program where inmates train puppies. But we all know I was the real teacher. Obviously.

Click the button below to learn more about the Working on our Futures (WOOF) Program.

Ready for more cuteness?
