New Adoption Process

Thinking of adopting a furry friend? How exciting!

Thank you for considering adoption! While we are excited to welcome the public back to our shelters with the lifting of restrictions in Nova Scotia,  we will still be requiring visitors, volunteers, and staff to wear face masks a little longer.

Our shelters are small and do not provide a lot of opportunity to social distance, so this additional step is necessary to ensure we provide a safe environment for all staff and visitors.

Ensuring that we continue to be well staffed to provide adequate care for the animals at our shelters is our top priority. We will continue to go above and beyond minimum standards to ensure our staff remain healthy and able to provide the top quality care to homeless and abandoned animals in Nova Scotia.

Thank you for your patience during these challenging times. We can’t wait to see you!

Please note there is no guarantee that the animal you are interested in will still be available. That pet is not held for you and can be adopted by anyone with an earlier application.

Currently, our shelters do not keep a waitlist for specific preferences.

Please be patient and kind to our shelter staff and volunteers. We continue to follow the direction and guidance of the Chief Medical Officer of Health for the Province of Nova Scotia.

I'm ready to view animals looking for a forever home!
